Owner’s Risk
These items can be sent at ‘owner’s risk’. This means that you can send them with us if you want to, but we disclaim all liability including without limitation for loss or damage. We also reserve the right to abandon carriage immediately if we become aware of them. We strongly advise that you arrange your own cover for loss or damage.
- Cash or other negotiable instruments (e.g. tickets)
- Irreplaceable items, letters, legal documents or other valuables
- Fine art, antiques, or pictures
- Personal effects
- Jewellery, gems, trinkets or personal ornaments like rings, necklaces, or other items containing jewels or precious metals
- Perishables (e.g. fresh fruit and vegetables, meat or frozen goods, chocolate etc.)
- gold and silver bullion, coin, dust, cyanides, precipitates, or any form of uncoined gold and silver or bullion, platinum and other precious metals
- precious and semi-precious stones including commercial carbons or industrial diamonds
- currency (paper or coin) of any nationality, negotiable securities, stocks, bonds, certificates, uncancelled postage or revenue stamps, war savings or thrift stamps, blank or endorsed bank cashier’s cheques, money orders or traveller’s cheques
- Plants and plant materials
If a material or substance is Prohibited or Dangerous, it cannot be sent at Owner’s Risk.
Prohibited goods
These items cannot be sent on standard GT-EX services. You must notify us before you book if you wish to send them. We will help you obtain authority to transport these items safely and legally.
- Unprocessed precious metals
- Any items that are illegally procured
- Any items to be used for illegal purposes
- Live animals or other living goods
- Cigarettes or tobacco products
- Firearms/weapons (Including dummy, non-firing or museum replicas)
- Airbags
- E-cigarettes and any of their components (vaping products)
- Marijuana (both medical and recreational), CBD, or hemp
- Narcotics and controlled substances legally obtained
- Firearms (guns) and weapons (Including dummy, non-firing, or museum replicas)
- Ammunition
- Knives/sharp instruments
- Counterfeit goods
- Bloodstock, breeding, stud or prize animals
- Any other substance or thing which is prohibited by or under the laws of the Commonwealth or any State or Territory
Dangerous goods
These items cannot be sent on standard GT-EX services. You must notify us before you book if you wish to send them. We will make arrangements for safe packaging and carriage, and provide you with further instructions.
Dangerous goods include, without limitation, any goods which may become liable to damage any person or property whatsoever, such as any substance that may:
- Explode
- Asphyxiate
- Burn
- Poison
- Eat skin or metals
- Pollute the environment
- Become unstable with other products
Some specific examples of dangerous goods, without limitation:
- Hand sanitisers
- Toxic gases or substances
- Explosive goods
- Nuclear waste, nuclear material, radioactive substances
- Organic peroxide
- Infectious substances
- Corrosive substances
- Flammable liquids or solids
- Aerosols and aerosol-based products like hairspray, tanning spray, shaving cream and deodorant
- Alcohols and alcohol-containing products like aftershave and mouthwash containing alcohol, alcohol-based perfumes, rubbing alcohol or hand sanitisers
- Acetones and acetone-containing products like nail polish remover with acetone
- Nail polish, including without limitation nail polish containing toluenes
- Any other goods which may become liable to damage any person or property whatsoever
- Any other substance or thing which is regulated as dangerous goods by or under the laws of the Commonwealth or any State or Territory, any conditions of carriage, or any other legislation, regulation, treaty, or policy
